Salt Creek Camping

Well, just spend another lovely camping week with friends :).This time, we went to Salt Creek campground, which is on the border between USA (Washington State) & Canada (Victoria). It's separated by Pacific Ocean... kinda be :D

It's kinda last minute trip though. We just checked the weather and found
out that it's way way Sunny, and we shouldn't have missed this.

Well, camping up there was fun :) First, we did do some clam digging and oyster shedding. So, that's the fun part in the morning. Part of our troops were assigned to catch the oyster and clam earlier since I and the other soldier were on the tasks to pick up 2 other friends from the ferry.
They came from Victoria to join us an overnight camping :). On my way to Sequim Bay, where we harvested the shellfish, we dropped by a store for licencing. The lady in the shop warned us that shellfish over there at Sequim Bay contains high level of toxin, higher than what is allowed by the state, and recommended us to go to other place to harvest it. Well, i doubt that's what old words say, "The More You Warn Someone, The More Curious They Wanna Do It" :) Then, we did hit the road to Sequim Bay to do our harveting. Well, it did turn out that we're not the only
team there. There are a bunch of other folks who were digging clam around there. Then, we started performing our mission. I kinda arrived late for the low tide. The tide started increasing rapidly. It's like 10 feet per 1 minute. It's really really fast.. but still we had enough time to harvest the amount we need for a night dinner :)

We arrived at our campground around 2PM. We're lucky enough to get a spot right next to the beach :) Then, we started the grill fire and performed our tasks... EATING :D We grilled beef marinated with bbq sauce, and chicken spiced with lemon grass, salt, peper... Thx to chef Sophea for that :D

After a full eating, we went for hiking. They have a pretty good hiking trail, just right off the cliff
down to the beach. Also, there are many many wonderful scenery around there. Too bad that I didn't have my camera with me... Forgot it on the chair back at my apartment :(.. So, all the images down here are not credited to me though.

We did a 40 minutes hiking down to the beach. And on the way back, we decided to do the shortcut :) Beach trail.... so, it's kinda rocky and sandy a little bit. That's called Adventure :D When we hit the way back, the tide started coming higher already... we ended up crossing many rocky flood spots... :) but so far so fun though...

And at night time at the campground... it's all about grilling again... Corn & Marshmallow... Dang that Marshmallow... so so so so sweet... it's like eating Super Sweet Candy... No way that I would finish that whole one :D We finished our first day around 11PM and went off to bed. It was a nice sleep for me.

The next day, we started off with our hottie dish :) Porridge... with salty egg, salty tofu, scrambled egg with onion... It gave us all the morning energy. After that, we did have another short hiking before hitting the road back home. And in the morning... the tide level was low... We had the chance to see the marine life... whatever we hadn't seen yesterday. It was a stunning view and moment. I just wish i had my camera with me :(
